Zenna Laser designs narrow web laser cutting machines for abrasive materials where flexibility, accuracy and fast product changes are important. These systems are typically used for material widths up to 600 mm, making them suitable for abrasive discs, rolls, sheets, strips and specialty formats.
Because the cutting path is controlled digitally, manufacturers can switch between shapes, hole patterns and product types without mechanical tooling changes. This removes the tool wear linked to punching or die cutting and helps maintain consistent edge quality from the first part to the last.
Flexible converting for changing abrasive products
Narrow web production often involves smaller batches, changing roll widths and frequent order changes. Laser cutting makes this easier because contours, holes, perforations and sheet lengths are controlled through software instead of fixed tools.
This gives manufacturers more freedom to process different abrasive products on one machine, including multi-hole discs, triangles, sheets, strip products, disc rolls and fine-grit products on a liner. The machine can be configured around the material width, cutting pattern, output method and required automation level.
FlexCutter MT 500 for discs, sheets and specialty formats
The Zenna Laser FlexCutter MT 500 is a configurable laser cutting machine for abrasive materials up to 500 mm wide. It can process paper, film, PSA backing and abrasive grits from P36 to P2000, making it suitable for both small and large batches.
The machine can cut discrete parts, sheet rolls, disc rolls, multi-hole discs, triangles and specialty abrasive shapes. Optional modules include a double unwinder, laminating module, MultiPicker robot for counted stacks, dual rewinder and accumulator module for exchanging rolls or cores while cutting continues.
FlexCutter R2R for abrasive roll products
The FlexCutter R2R is designed for high-margin abrasive roll products, such as sheet rolls, disc rolls with multi-hole patterns, scalloped sanding belts and fine-grit daisies on a liner.
The system supports continuous cutting on the fly, with flexible perforation or kiss cutting for tear-off sheets and separation lines. Sheet size, perforation intervals and patterns can be changed digitally, making the machine suitable for varied roll products with short changeovers and minimal material loss.
FlexCutter EasyLock for automated disc production
The FlexCutter EasyLock is designed for easy-connect abrasive discs, such as Quick-Lock, Quick Change, Roloc, SpeedLok and Siafix-type products. Instead of using multiple separate process steps, the machine combines adhesive application, EasyLock placement, vision positioning and laser cutting in one automated line.
This reversed production sequence improves concentricity, reduces manual handling and removes the need for intermediate stock. The system is suitable for different disc sizes, material types and batch sizes, while also being able to operate as a standard FlexCutter for discrete abrasive parts.
Software-controlled production with ZocuPRO
All FlexCutter systems are controlled through Zenna Laser’s ZocuPRO software platform. Operators can design shapes, import DXF files, store laser parameters and switch between orders using predefined recipes.
This enables very fast changeovers, often in only a few seconds, because shapes and hole patterns are changed digitally. ZocuPRO can also connect with ERP systems, helping manufacturers create a more repeatable and automated production process with lower labour demand and reduced maintenance compared to mechanical cutting methods.
