There are two types of lasers used for metal welding, determined by their wavelength; CO2 based lasers (10.64 micrometer) and diode generated fiber lasers (1,6 micrometer). Whereas CO2 welding offers a smoother weld quality, welding with a Fiber laser is faster and requires less energy.
